Daughters of Jerusalem and Sisters of Mercy
The Daughters Auxiliary
The Daughters of Jerusalem and Sisters of Mercy was founded by Prophet William Saunders Crowdy through divine vision to be an auxiliary to the Church of God and Saints of Christ. Established on June 26, 1898, this organization is one of the oldest women’s organizations in the USA.
In the vision for the Daughters of Jerusalem and Sisters of Mercy, Prophet Crowdy named the officers after women in the Bible, holding the officers of the organization to the highest spiritual and moral standards. The mission of the DOJASOM was to aid suffering humanity. These women prayed for the welfare of others, fed the sick, and otherwise aided those in need. The first general meeting held to share all of the charitable work conducted in various Tabernacles was in Guthrie, Oklahoma. The Prophet used the Daughters Auxiliary to foster growth by encouraging them to bring the men in their families to the Church and by hiring the women to work in his various businesses.
Today, the Daughters of Jerusalem and Sisters of Mercy have quorums in multiple factions of the Church throughout the United States, Africa, Jamaica, Canada, Bermuda, and the U.K. They operate through designated groups including, but not limited to, Home and Foreign Missions, Widows and Orphans, and Sick and Shut-In Committees.

Our Uniforms
The uniforms the Church wears come from a few backgrounds. In the United States, the English Walking Suit, Frock Coat and Morning Coat were common styles of dress for men during the early years of the Church. Long skirts paired with a blouse, with or without a collar, were also a common style of dress for women during this time. During special occasions or times you wanted to dress up, men and women would wear their finest, most elegant clothes in those same styles of dress.
Several fraternal orders also wore/wear similar dress codes including the Armed Services and Law Enforcement.
This style of dress was implemented in the Church by the re-establisher as a means for the Saints to dress their best when coming to Church. The uniforms started out as black and white only during Sabbath services and various organization meetings. Several uniform colors were introduced over a short span of time before landing on the colored uniforms still worn today. The men and women wear the same color uniforms so that you cannot determine the financial class of the Saints. It's other purpose is uniformity.
Below you will see versions of the most up to date uniforms in digital form. More variations of uniforms from the early years of the Church to present day will be added soon.
